🌿 Welcome to Better You

Hi! I’m so glad you’re here.

Better You is a slow, intentional corner of the internet made to help you reconnect with yourself. In a world that’s constantly pushing us to do more, buy more, and become more, this newsletter is a gentle reminder that you’re already enough and that growth doesn’t have to be loud or rushed to be real. This space is about nourishing your mind, your habits, and your heart in ways that feel grounded and sustainable.

Why I Created This Newsletter

I started Better You because I was tired of the pressure to constantly "improve" in ways that didn’t feel authentic. I wanted to create something different — a soft space for reflection, gentle habits, and meaningful change. A place that acknowledges how personal growth, wellness, and self-awareness are deeply connected to the world around us — including our communities, the environment, and how we show up every day.

This newsletter is for anyone who’s craving intention over hustle. You don’t need to have it all figured out — you just need to be curious, open, and willing to grow in your own time.

What You Can Expect

Every week, you’ll get thoughtful notes delivered to your inbox that might include:

  • Personal reflections & mindset shifts

  • Mindful habit ideas & sustainable routines

  • Simple practices for slowing down

  • Book, podcast, or article recommendations

  • Gentle reminders that progress doesn’t have to be perfect

Why Subscribe?

Because you deserve a space that prioritizes reflection over perfection. Better You isn’t about fixing yourself; it’s about finding yourself, slowly and intentionally, one email at a time. If you’re looking for a pause in the noise, a reminder to come back to yourself, and a community that values growth without pressure — this is for you.

Let’s figure out life together. 💌

About Zenee Elisé

Zenee Elisé (she/they) is an environmentalist, intersectional vegan, activist and the writer and publisher of Better You. She is also a creator with an Instagram page its.dearearth and a YouTube channel itsdearearth. Zenee has worked with various environmental companies and organizations, such as Dogwood Alliance and Trashie. She has also been featured on the Naijha Speaks Podcast and the Sustainable Travel Podcast, discussing topics related to climate change, environmental racism, and veganism.

Zenee was also a part of the 2024 Youth Steering Committee, where she went to Washington D.C. and advocated to her congressional leaders, House Committees, and various government organizations such as the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) for more plant-based options to be implemented into K-12 schools across the United States.

As a Dominican-American, Zenee has always felt a connection to the environment. However, her love for the environment blossomed when she witnessed how eco-conscious German society was. She also saw how veganism was not “restrictive” or “impossible.” This experience caused her to make the shift from being vegetarian to vegan.

Zenee strives to create a safe space and community for individuals who love the environment. She doesn’t see herself — or want to be portrayed — as a teacher, but rather as a fellow student navigating the world alongside you. Her goal is to learn, question, and grow in real-time while becoming more environmentally aware, intentional, and connected. Through her work, she hopes to show that progress matters more than perfection — and that we’re all figuring it out together.
